Not Forgotton

I know it has been a while. Just busy! Who isn't this time of year? I am getting excited for the holiday. Tomorrow we will open few gifts, a tradition. Hopefully I will post some pictures and update. I still have some presents to wrap. And one gift yet to finish. It is taking longer than I thought it would to make.

Right now, we are watching "White Christmas" one of my favorites. They are on the train to Vermont, singing the song SNOW. Oh how I wish we had some of that white stuff. no snow, snow....I think of peace, quiet,,,white stuff, snuggling...... fireplaces.

Happy Holidays!

Reflections

Today was the award ceremony for the reflections program. It is a national PTA art education program for kids. Both Evan and Allan entered this year. Allan won first place in photography, outstanding interpretation. His photograph has been forwarded on to the city level for judging. The theme was "WOW". Evan did a pencil drawing of a camping scene in the wilderness. Allan took a picture of a cicada. Next year's theme is "Beauty Is..." I can only wonder what the boys will come up with for that.

DARE and Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving went well. A lot of food. First time I had so many people for a sit down dinner. Two turkeys. I didn't get to take as many pictures as I wanted. I was just to busy. It was nice to have family here. Cramped but nice.

DARE
Evan graduated from DARE on Wednesday. What is DARE? Drug,Abuse,Resistance,Education. Evan was happy, as was I. He was so happy to see his grandma there. My mom couldn't believe what the kids learned and the winning essays the kids wrote. It was a nice program.

Soon

Ok, I know I just posted but soon it will be really crazy here. Company will be arriving from up north. Hopefully I will not mess up Thanksgiving dinner. We are excited to have everyone come here. We haven't had this many family at our house since Evan's baptism in NJ. Gosh, he isn't a baby anymore. Well, I think I hear my mom and step-dad outside. Fun, no stress, happy face.... be Thankful. I am, even though I don't sound it all the time.

KING TUT! TUT!

King Tut! Tut! He was so divine,
King Tut! Tut! Yes very, very fine!

Allan had his Temples and Tombs program on Tuesday Nov. 18th. What a fun night. I helped with set up, I should have gotten a reserved front row seat. Oh, well. Allan did some singing but that was all. He was happy as a clam. Very cute. His friend from down the street that is always over was in it too. And of course his best friend. I wish they were in the same class.

Weekend

Just wanted to post some pictures from the weekend. Chris and I were lucky to get away for our anniversary. My brother watched the boys. It was nice to get away.

Puppies

This morning I went with my friend Nancy to see some puppies she looks after. Oh my GOSH! So cute. Poor Chris, he knew I wanted one. Of course we can't have one. Nancy is such an animal person. She goes out and feeds the mother of the puppies while the owners are at work. I can't wait to go again. There are eight bundles of crying, wet noses to cuddle.

Halloween and Soccer

Ok, I thought this would be easy to keep up. I am finding it a little harder than I thought. That's the way it goes with almost everything I try. Hey but that is the fun of it. Hope you enjoy my ramblings.

The kids had a lot of fun on Friday night trick or treating. We went with a friend in the neighborhood and his son. Actually, Chris and Steve took the boys and I stayed and handed out candy with a friend. Daren handed out candy for us at our house. Evan nearly got the life scared out of him at one house. I heard it was a hoot. He received extra candy for being so brave. ( oh in case you are wondering what are the boys dressed up as???? I know, not as good as times past. Evan is a Mad Scientist and Allan is a Rock Star.)

Sunday Evan had his last soccer game of the season. They won 3 - 2. Yes, I am a proud mama. Evan scored all three goals. The beginning of the season wasn't so great. Hopefully it will continue to get better.

STUFF from Last Week

First, Can't believe it is almost the weekend already. And HALLOWEEN! Last Friday my brother and I took the dogs to Sandbridge. They had so much fun. It was like Muffin was smiling. It was windy and cold. My ears hurt. They were so silly chasing the foam off the waves, it disappeared before they got to it.

Saturday, we went to the pumpkin patch. The weather was kinda bad, no hay ride. (drizzling, windy and cold) It was hard work pickin' out the perfect pumpkin. This was the first Fall with no hay ride. Although the boys didn't seem to mind as much as I did. Tradition.....

And Sunday....what fun, exciting.......Donna Downey. I took two of her classes. She was great. Oh, I am inspired for sure. I wish I could have taken her other class. I really enjoyed it all. It was nice to step out of my comfort zone.

IN THE JUNGLE

Tell me, am I a bad mom? Yesterday afternoon, after school the boys' friend down the street was chasing all them with his jock strap. Waving it in Allan's face. The other kids escaped. I told Allan next time just sit on him and fart. (all who know Allan well will get this)
Anyways, this brings up a memory from childhood. Should I share? Of course, if I can't laugh at myself I know you will. When I was little, my brother, not sure which one gave me a jock strap as a hat. Oh yes, I wore that hat proudly around the neighborhood. I wish someone took a picture of that. What a great scrapbook page that would make. NOT!
What does this have to do with in the jungle? While the animals, oh I mean kids were playing in the backyard they were singing:
In the jungle, the mighty jungle
Barnie sleeps at night
Barnie farted, a tornado started
Barnie died that night
wimaweh wimaweh wimaweh wimaweh
ee ee um um a weh
I love these animals!! And it is great that they all want to come here and play. Chris doesn't like it so much. But I do, I get to keep watchful eye and learn new songs. Have a good weekend.

Hump Day

Yesterday my brother Daren and I took a walk with the dogs to Back Bay while the kids were in school. I was going to post a picture but I used my other camera and they didn't come out that great. It was nice. Muffin loved the ocean of course. We also saw some deer. I think they wanted to come up to us. It was a beautiful day outside. I forget how lucky I am sometimes.

Allan and his friend were playing in the yard after school. Cracking us up. They were pretending to be caribou. They were calling out to each other in weird noises. Allan said he was the dominate male. It is a wonder no one calls the police or child services on us.

TREATS

Finally, I finished making the treat boxes for Allan's class. I made 27 of these bad boys. I saw the idea in the magazine Scrapbooks Etc. I think. It took me too long to make all of these. Allan only has 22 in his class but I had to make extras for neighbors and of course Evan. (It is uncool to have them in the fourth grade but secretly at home is ok) I know Allan can't wait to dig inside and have all his goodies. Oh, by the way, we only have about half of the candy left. I think I ate all the peanut m&m"s. That's why I try to buy the stuff I don't like. But there isn't much chocolate that I don't like to eat.

Halloween Humor

Getting ready for Halloween, can't believe it will be here soon. I bought candy today. Hopefully we don't eat all before then. I am making treat boxes for Allan's class. Why oh, why do I do this to myself. It is more work than I thought it would be. I will post a picture when I am done.

Cute?

OK! How can a dog be so cute but cause so much trouble? Daren's dog, Princess (I know he doesn't like the name either, she came with it from the pound) OMG, she loves to chew, dig, eat, jump. Did I forget to mention she is so darn CUTE! You should see her hop over the garden fence. She doesn't run and jump. She jumps like a rabbit. Straight over, eating my leftover tomatoes. Giving my Muffin some much needed exercise.

Hey

Hey I'm blogging. Just trying this out for the second time. Allan is outside playing and Evan is at soccer practice. Let's see if I can keep this up.
